  1. #1 Flash problem with my DMS3 Chip
    CopyCat Guest
Hi, I have a serious problem with my PS2 v10 with a DMS3 Chip in it.

The first problem was, that I could't install the HDD Explorer. Formating worked but when I start the HDD Explorer Insatallation CD and press X to install, it freezes.

The second problem was, the my Backup of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 doesn't start. (and the original CD works only when I disable the chip)

I read somewhere that I would work, if I reflash my DMS3 with the Flash 1.8 again.

So I downloaded it, burnt it und startet it. But if I press X to flash, it freezes.

So I guess the HDD Exlporer Problem and the Flash Problem are the same. But what could it be?
I tried Nero (newest version) with 1x, und Burnatonce and Alcohol 120%. I wasted 10 CDs now

Has anyone a idea what I should do?

no. But I tried 3 different HDDs
But maybe the upcoming Flash2.0 will fix it.

But my main Problem is, that I can't flash the DMS3 Chip.

revert the chip to the original bios (you'll have to go to the DMS website to find out how because I don't remember) and try to flash again. The DMS has 2 sets of bios on board, 1 is for normal use and that is what gets flashed and the other one is the original bios that doesn't get flashed. The back up bios are there for people who are having problems just like you are having. Pretty smart actually, instead of a ruined chip you can just start over.

I' ve the same problem, CopyCat. It keeps freezing during hdd explorer and flash install.

Where are you supposed to press reset 3 times? During boot or after it freezes?
