I was trying to install A crystal chip 1.1 in a V5/V6 PS2. (GH-015)
I got solder shorting 2 pins of a IC, and i broke the IC ...
Please take a look at the IC in the diagram:
http://www.crystal-chips.com/documen...11/cc11_v5.jpg
Its shown as #3 in the diagram... where to sold the dots P,O,M,N ...
This is a bios IC ? Whats is the function of this IC ?
Where can I get one of these?
Thank you very much!

That's the Bios. You're pretty screwed if you broke it. You're going to want to send it to someone who can repair it, or to buy a new motherboard probably, unless you can repair the broken legs yourself. A good snapshot of the disaster area would be helpful.

Great wording!
But seriously a picture might help determine if the bios chip is even salvageable. You wont be able to just pick up these chips from anyplace. You might be able to remove a good V5 bios chip from another damaged motherbaord although I have never heard of someone doing such a thing.

I've seen stores with motherboards intact. Try ebay too. Don't search for motherboard, just have a look around.
What's the #1 part of a ps2 that dies first, without a single shred of competition? The dvd drive. Once that's gone, the scrap left over sells for dirt cheap.
