  1. #1 First install - question about clock line
    emckenzie Guest
    Hi,

I just ordered a Magic V chip from modchip.ca. I'll be installing it on my V7 PS2 (39001) in a few days when it arrives.

I have read a few posts talking about the clock line and how it should be kept short and preferably twisted with a ground wire.

    1. Does anyone know which pin on the Magic V is the clock line?

    2. Does anyone know of a good ground close to the clock line on a V7 PS2 that I can use?

    Thanks for your help.

    - Eric

there is a problem with a timing wire with the magic V. it is the r terminal on the modchip i had a intermittent booting problem until i wrapped the r wire with a ground wire to shield it. now it works flawlessly. i have a picture of this and can email it to you if you like.

wire wrapped example (D and E on DMS3, clock on DMS9 v9 and v10s, R and Y on magicV ) these are some of the installs that will benefit from using wrapped twisted pair wire.

    psx-tech,

Thanks for the picture. The picture mentions the line as either 'D' oe 'E'. Do you mean that both of these lines need to be wrapped? Or is one of the lines (D or E) the ground?
