Fan during standby

Maybe it's me and I've lost the plot but.....

I just chipped a V10 PS2 with Matrix Infinity

When I power on the PS2 with the switch at the back, and the standby light comes on, the fan starts running even though the PS2 is in standby.

The PS2 works fine and boots everything spot on, but I don't remember if the fan is supposed to run in standby mode ????

Is there something wrong, and if so, has anyone got any ideas ?

I have a v9 with the same chip as you. That is wierd. In stand buy I don't hear the fan at all only if I hit the reset to turn it on. It could be you though. I hope this helps.

as far as i know the fan isnt ment to run unless the ps2 is on :blink:

How about a V12. I cannot get it to come on but it has 3 wires and seems to be thermostatcilly controlled. It has a pcb built into fan and has 3 wires goin into fan assembly.

NE1 know if the V12 slim has a thermostatcilly controlled fan. I just want to make sure it is working right. I checked power and it has the 8.3VDC going to it (inside fan). Sticker says brushless fan 8.5VDC so just want to verify operation mode first.
