Hello, I am looking to buy an either solderless or a very minor soldering modchip for my PS2 (V4 I believe). Any suggestions?
I want to just be able to burn a game and play it, will the PS2 Slide Card and Swap Magic work?

Most people on here will say get a solder chip and have someone install. Not many believe in solderless. I hear the slide card and swap magic work fairly good but I never liked the idea.
Well it allows you to play burned games, doesn't it?Originally Posted by Kal-El
Stay away from solderless modchips. You have to buy Swap Magic with all of them except PMS4 EZI chip which is not the best modchip due to major problems (read news section, you'll find a thread on it) and it cost probably as much as paying someone to install a modchip for you.
Well what does swap magic do exactly?
Basically allow you to play import or backup but you have to use the swap disc then swap it with the import or backup disc. Pain in the butt after 2 weeks of ussage cause you'll get fraustrated after doing it so much. Read more about this in swap section on this forum.
