Hello am currently OK at soldering and am going to solder an old dreamcast more less because i want the practice and a new one is only 25.00$$$ but when you get to x-box and ps2 which are 150.00$$ each.. I have both and need to mod both, My q is which one is more forgiving and would be easier to install... The x-box looks like that some mod chips have only like 2 wires to install while the ps2 still has 17 for the duo. My second Q is I already have an old neo key installed in my V4 and was wondering if i have to clip the wire that is connecting them or can i just leave them? Thanks

They are all the same for the most part, and there are ways that it can be done without even buying a modchip like flashing the onboard bios or using a exploit.

Still, regarding an XBOX chip, the easiest must be the AppleX V (VI is out now). This chip is cheap, and damn near bullet proof. The Aladdin Advance chip would follow closely behind.

The Xecuter and Xenium are better choices, but not as easy to install, and require bios installs.

I have put a couple of aladdin chips in and they are very straight forward and easy to do. The d0 point is the toughest of all. And just make sure that you get good connections on your lpc points, they can be tough to see, just use a multimeter to check the points.

    Good luck.
