DVD won't boot help, crystal installed!!

I just installed a crystal chip into my v9 pal ps2 and everything works, but it won't boot dvd of any kind (-r, original, movie). I checked the wiring, no bridges and all are connected correctly.
I tried decreasing the pot value about 80 ohms, but NO change, not even a little, so I didn't touched the pot anymore before I fry the laser. And coils have right value, 5.5 ohms.
When I put a dvd in it makes a clicking noise with constant time intervals.
I suspect la...???

It's not the LA. It's your soldering or the modchip is defected. You could possibly soldered the wire to a wrong spot.

You maybe right, the install doesn't look all too neat. I used enammeled copper wire. I used my multimeter and it shows all points right (no resistance).
I try redoing the points... I think B-I??

Re-did the installation... no succes.

Any suggestions?

Did you flash it after the install??
If you did and it still won't read, back out of the install and get the console working with retails and movies without a chip, then go from there.
