I have a problem with the resistor bank that controls the opening/closing of the dvd tray. The resistor that handles the closing of the dvd tray (and also is the Z point to solder for my magic 3.1) is showing about 2k resistance when it should be showing 10k. If the resistor was totally dead I could just solder in another one at the dead points and be done with it. With the resistor still doing part of its job though I can't just pop another 10k one on since the resistance wouldn't be correct between the 2, if I remember my basic electronics correctly. I'd like to be able to close the darn tray with the eject button. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. I saw that discussion also when I was looking at past posts. Unfortunately 1 of the resistors is still partially working and I cant just bridge it with a 10k resistor. Lining up both resistors in a serial alignment wouldn't do me any good since that would change the value of the resistance.

Since no one has any ideas I think I'm gonna get ahold of a mod shop here in Vegas and have them drop a new resistor bank in place of the old one. While I'm at it I'll have them solder in the wires for my chip so I dont have another accident with my big hands trying to do fine soldering. Thanks for looking at my post though.
