I am trying to play US DVD movies on my JAP SCPH-10000 with the JAP DVD Region X
After I?ve selected the region 1 and pressed X, such an image popped out on the TV screen as upper left PS2, upper right Memory Card / 2,

In the left of middle, the icon representing my system file, the right a golden disk icon representing DVD video.

Then moved the cursor to DVD icon and pressed O, the message ? This disc can not be reproduced due to region code? appeared.

    My PS2

    Unit SCPH ? 10000
    Browser 1,00
    CD player 1,00
    Driver 1,00
    DVD Player 1,01

Is there a fix to play my US DVD movies with the DVD RegionX on my SCPH-10000 ?

    Thanx

Hey...what version of the DVD Region X do you have? With or without dongle? Either way, check the DVD Region X site on how to reset the dongle http://www.dvdregionx.com

As well, try deleting the mem save it writes to your memory card.

try the upgrade code on www.dvdregionx.com and do you have the new dongle version, the mediocre non-dongle or the OLD non-dongle?

Unfortunatelt the code you need to make it work with DVD driver 1.01 can't be found at the DVD Region X page.
Still here you go (datel will probably hate me for this but here ya go)

DVDID = 1.00 DVDVER = 1.00 (Use this with US GSv2 to run on JP unit)
    E799066B 83B731E3
    E796AC2F 83BC31E3
    67995487 83B831E1

DVDID = 1.01 DVDVER = 1.01 (this is the code you need, work for GSv2 US too)
    E7996EBB 83B731E3
    E797B7D7 83C031E3

some revisions of the GS dongle can work with the Region X but you have to manually input a code. To get to the code input screen, follow instructions found at www.dvdregionx.com.
P.S.: New dongle versions (2.21 and up, dongle looks like megamemory X 16m cartridge) are NOT code upgradeable.
And YES I own a Region X 2.21 for japanese console. IT DOES NOT SUPPORT driver version 1.01. The DVD player still show region message, like if I didn't ran Region X disc.

Hi, thank you for your suggestion.

I have tried to let DVD Region X work well as you suggested before.

I have already browsed DVD Region Com home page and found there some Important messages to let it work by entering the code.

But a couple of instructions I have to follow haven?t been enable PS2 to go on

Well . What it can not do is:

    4. Wait for white PlayStation logo on black screen

Actually this logo doesn?t appear without touching Reset button with DVD Region X CD Inserted in the drive.

    10. To press Select to access the Code Entry Screen.

Actually it can?t get to the Code Entry Screen by pressing Select

I need to know more accurate and detailed instruction to let it work.

    For example,
Do I have to have inserted DVD RegionX CD in the drive before 1. turn the power off PS2 console and otherwise.

    Thank you

Just do EXACTLY what is said there, then enter the code for DVD driver 1.01 I posted here. There's no other way to unlock the code insertion menu ... After it's unlocked, it's saved to the dongle or memorycard save and you can easily access it by pressing select.

    *edit*
Put dongle (memorycard in port1 if you using dongle, as that PS2 needs to read DVD driver from memcard) or memory card in port 2
(both DVD driver and DVDregionX saves will be on the same memcard)
Turn the PS2 on while holding L1+L2+R1+R2+Select+Start (this is the command to reset the dongle) then press X to open the CD tray. Turn the PS2 off on the rear switch with the tray open.
Turn it on again and reset (this doesn't matter how now. Just get the DVDRegionX to boot)
At the region select screen press select button. It now should show you the code entry screen ... This simple

Thank you for you manual. But I think I need more detailed suggestion because I failed to let it work well.

The most crucial difficulty for me is I canft get to code entry screen.

    1. Put dongle (memorycard in port1 if you using dongle, as that PS2 needs to read DVD driver from memcard) or memory card in port 2
This dongle is ps2 memory card already having been downloaded or DVD regionX key?

    2. Turn the PS2 on while holding L1+L2+R1+R2+Select+Start (this is the command to reset the dongle) then press X to open the CD tray@
Nothing has ever taken place except black screen?

    3. Turn it on again and reset (this doesn't matter how now. Just get the DVDRegionX to boot)
Do I have to insert RegionX CD into the tray before turn it on again?
Reset means I should push the reset buttonH

    4. At the region select screen press select button. It now should show you the code entry screen
Nothing has ever take place after pressing the select button?

Your suggestion could make me more hopeful and less elusive about understanding it with more detailed ones.

    Thank you for your patience
