Does the Matrix Infiity have support for dvd+r(w) disks.
It really ought to. Even the Duo2SE can play DVD+RW.
alright. thanks for your help
Ability to read DVD+/-RW isn't a function of the modchip. Its a function of the media quality and the laser and the data it reads/sends back to the ps2.
Most people advise AGAINST using RW media for backups since the increased power the laser needs to read this type of media wears your laser out faster than it would otherwise.
Decent +/-R media is cheap enough for you to burn all the backups you will ever need.
You can get 100 qualty discs for ~$50, the price of one new ps2 game... so for the price of not buying that DDR 25th mix game, you can back up your extensive PS2 game library.
Close, but not quite. Reading re-writables is a function of the Infinity, when the F point is used. Without the F wire installed, the Infinity will not read RW's.Originally Posted by TarzanMan
You're correct about the data being read and sent to the ps2, but the coding used by RW's is sufficiently different to require an extra wire. I personally, based on your other accurate comments about laser wear, do not install the F wire normally, and tell all inquiring customers to not use RW's.
same here.
isn't it point W on infinity for support of rewritables??
I'm sure it's F
Point W are for the DM$ series.Originally Posted by saasf
