my ps2 model is SPCH-30003 and it has 10 screws so its a V3 and i have a DVD+R burner
Ive burned a game to DVD+R but it doesnt work.
Now my friend told me that on a V3 only DVD-R will work.
Is it true?Or is there a chip which will play DVD+R on a V3??

    thanks

it should work I've burned DVD+R's and they work fine on all versions, you might have to adjust the laser a little

I don't suggest it, the old lasers in v1-4 have been known not to read DVD+R.....
My old v4 GT3 pack didn't, so I had to get a new v7. I suggest you do the same, they read backups much better anyways.

Well known fact that Pre-v5's are very picky about the media. -R for them is pretty much it--especially with the age on the units. Only the newest models have been reading +R consistently, about 50/50 on v7's with age. Sorry, you may need to look into upgrading the PS2 or your burner. -R's (Pioneer/Cendynes)are gonig for about the same price (with rebates) as a new PS2, unless you can arrange to upgrade the laser unit only.

    Good luck!
