I had a customer ask about this.
He has had a Apple chip installed for about 3 months now.
He tried to watch a DVD movie and it is now saying that the DVD player is not setup. I didnt know there was anything to setup on the DVD player.
Any ideas?

Usually means he's missing the driver. It should be stored in the BIOS, except if he upgraded it. He would need the mem card in the port, with the DVD driver on it.Quote:

Yeah, I found out they bought the remote control and it came with a disc to upgrade the drivers. Now somehow they are gone. I know he isn't too concerned about it, but I thought I would ask. Any way to get the original drivers back?
had this issues some months ago with a Messiah1 on a V4 PS2 , was the result of a fried bios : basically , no more DVD could be booted , except DVD-R copies ( dunno why ) .
original DVD games and video DVD couldn't boot at all . even after unsoldering the chip , still no luck .
the PS2 died a couple of monthes later with a totally burned bios ...
i know that won't help , but i'm sharing my experience about this : this PS2 is prolly gonna die ..
Hello,
I've the same problem, when i insert an original DVD, it seems that it start to boot, but then appears the message "The DVD player is not setup" (without chip).
Anyone try to solve this problem upgrading it with the CD and memory card that cames with the remote?
Thanks in advance,
Nuno
Any clue for that?
I've tried with the original remote+memory card and CD Drivers, but it doesn't result at all.
If anyone could help, I apreciate it very mutch.
Thank you,
Nuno
