I am now getting this message on my SCPH-10000 with the XO-10 mod chip when trying to watch US DVD movies.
Anyone know how to "Set up" the DVD player?
My Version information is as follows:
Unit: SCPH-10000
Browser: V1.0
CD Driver: V1.0
Playstation Driver: V1.0
Do I need the DVD driver? And if so, where can I get it and how do I get it onto my PS2?
Thanks!
What you never have the DVD drive in your memory card? When your boss give you his PS2 did he give you a utility Disc such as the one shown in the pic? Because you need that CD to copy the DVD software to your memory card in order to watch DVD movie.
I thought the DVD player needs to be setup before modding.....or has that all changed now.
That is true, if you modded the PS2 first you can not copy the DVD software from the CD to the memory card..It seem the utility disc is protected. In order for him to copy the software he have to disable the mod chip (remove the 3v wire) then you can setup the DVD software.
I dont have the utility disc
Is there an image online somewhere that I could download?
Looks like I wont be watching any DVDs on my PS2.
At least I still have my Xbox for that!
ditto i need it as wellOriginally Posted by Hole
It would be best not to even use the ps2 or xbox to watch dvd movies. Get yourself a standalone dvd player, use the gaming machines for gaming, and don't waste their lasers on a movie.
Think of it like this, say you have a total of 1000 hours of playing time on a laser, which is not too unrealistic with a ps2, you don't want to watch 50 movies and cut off about 100 hours of that time. Play games, get a $40 standalone player, and then save the $50 you will spend on a ps2 laser for a little longer, maybe altogether, if you use good media.
