DVD Drive wont eject, blown fuse?
DVD Drive wont eject, blown fuse? –
Ok I installed a DUO Modchip and while I was putting the caseing back together, my brother who was helping me with the chip accidently broke the fan wires into. well I put them back together but the fan still wouldnt come on. so what we ended up doing to get the fan to work was to solder the power wire to the (ps8 chip 30 regulator) and I soldered a ground of course also. well the ps2 worked great for about 2 weeks. yesterday we tried to power up and the tray wont eject and the eye just sits there twitching back and forth. the tray doesnt even try to open. Also the fan doesnt work on that regulator anymore. Actually it works on the other side of the regulator, its really weird. I have red on here that if ur tray doesnt open its because of the "BA chip"... is this my problem? did I blow this fuse also? is there a fuse chart anywere? someone please help me out, this is driving me insane.
sorry, it is a V.5/6 thanks
just an update for everyone... I beleive I have found out the problem. its the on/off/reset ribbon. I believe there is some kind of short in the wire. If I wiggle the wire the screen comes on and I was actually able to get it to open and close the tray one time by wiggling it. So Im gonna order me a new ribbon and hopefully I will be playing my ps2 soon.
Just wondering if this solved youor problem dude_son?
I have this problem also
I installed a Duo on my V3 and started getting problems with opening the tray until it stopped opening completly. When I press the eject button, the blue led blinks a few times, the CD stops but the tray doesn't open. Pressing eject again the led blinks once and the CD start spinning.
If I open the tray by moving the mechanism inside the drive with the PS2 turned off, when I turn it on the tray closes.
I removed the modchip and still no go.
I reattached de modchip and the modchip is working, so I guess I'll just have to use a slide card to open the tray for switchig the discs
