DUO3 not working
DUO3 not working –

I have bought a Duo3 modchip, and a new laser-lens. After soldering the modchip and putting in the new laser-lens, the ps2 doesn't ready any cd or dvd nor original nor backup. Could it be that the chip wasn't soldered correctly or is it something else (i have tryed it with another laser-lens but it's the same)?
edit: forget to say that there are few weird things. if i pull out the battery and restart the console so no date and time is set, in the first menu (browse and settings configuration) the little star the writes down circles stop at the top, but after setting time and date it is good. the other that in the browse menu (where you see the memcard and the cd or dvd) there are red lines through the screen in about 45 degrees.

LASER or laser LENS? That's the biggest question.

Okay, I don't know what to tell you but to wait for someone else to reply, or have someone experienced look at it.
If you had only replaced the lens, I was going to suggest you geta whole new laser, but I'm not at all experienced in PS2 modding/repairs. So I can't really help, I was just making sure you pointed that out.

you need to desolder the anti-static bridge if the laser is new

if it's a pvr-802w laser, from the side view look for a solder point where it's near but vertical to the flat cable connector. remove the solder you should see 3 pads and make sure they are not joined.
