Hey guys, I just finished up modding my PS2 V4 with a new Duo2se. Problem is, my PS2 acts like it isn't modded. It won't recognize ANY backups... also, it recognizes ORIGINAL psx games as audio discs... I have checked and rechecked all my soldering locations (with my multimeter) and I have continuity through all the correct points... I even had to replace a blown PS9 fuse (an s7)... and this is my dillema... at one point I did have points A and B accidentally bridged together... would this have anything to do with it? I thought those were only for the CD-ROM controller????

I've searched and can't find the answer... only thing I can think is that the chip just won't work so it may be bad....

    HELP!

    Thanks,
    Rustmonkey

P.S. I also have a BRAND NEW 400-C laser installed which correctly played DVDs, PS2 games, and PSX games before the mod...

done allot of Duo2SE, if your install is perfect then the mod is dead.
vgcrepairs.com ! where dead consoles come back to life.

I've bridged the CD/DVD controller chip wires before without too much consequence other than getting the RSOD. I would still suspect the wiring work.

Ok, checked all points again and I guess one of them was loose. Now it works great... BUT it refuses to boot backup PS2 CDR. It boots PS1 CDR fine... any ideas?
