  1. #1 Duo2SE Eject Issue
    Artifact Guest
Just installed a Duo2SE in a black v9. Boots up fine etc. Except it won't eject. When I press the Eject button, it just blinks a few times and doesn't do anything. Any ideas on what's going on? Are there any particular points that're tied into the Eject point? It's easy to say "just check the board for solder balls, bridges etc." But there must be a specific point on the board that's causing this.

    Thanks in advance,
    Art

You have shorted the bios chip somewere.

Check it with a magnafying glass, even if you dont see a short
get a razor blade and scrap in between each bio just to make sure!

    This should fix the problem

Just ran a pin inbetween all the bios legs, there was a slight bump when I tried to pass it between O and one of the adjoining legs. I'm gonna test it now. Thanks a lot for that! I'll get back with the results in a while... gotta put the bastard back together ;/

Just tested it again... still no luck... what's the likelihood of it being the bios points? Do you recommend me resoldering the legs?

get a multimeter and these problems won't be quite as annoying A cheapo digital multimeter costs virtually nothing and is an invaluable tool for any eletronic work.

Double-check your Z & R connections. Make sure you don't have them backwards or that they're shorting out somewhere. It may also be possible that one of the wires may have been pinched, would could have stripped a bit of the insulation off of the wire and cause it to short. Anyway, Z & R are responsible for your eject and reset functions. Hope this helps...

Thanks a lot! I havn't checked it just yet, but I'll do that tommorow! It would sound about right, as everything else seems to work fine, it just won't eject ;/
