After reading many threads, I had an urge to make a topic.
I did a few duo2 chips ina v7 and 2 v9's and everything is fine including the ones with the romeo mods.
Anyhow, I have a few duo2se chips now and im noticing a lot of problems with them. So before I install one, does anyone have any recommendations or tips on installing a duo2se successfully. I read in one that the z shouldn't be connected or something, etc.
Just wanted to make a post for the people who have experieneced problems with the installs and what you did to overcome them so I and other people don't have to go threw the troubleshooting after it's intalled via the duo diagram.
Tips and advice please on the insall (unless every post on the forum about the duo2se is user error)
I've been doing DUO2SE's and, with the exception of my own V9 ;/, I've had a great response and 99% boot rate (I havn't had any failed boots, but I can't make presumptuous guarantees like 100%). I heard that the Z wire didn't need to be soldered in at all in later issues and were in fact causing some eject issues (I had eject issues, but that was due to a dodgy Romeo mod).
Hope this helped, don't let things discourage you from getting DUO's, they work great for me (provided you don't get clones).
