Duo2 SE with V5 PS2 weirdness
Well, this was my first attempt in soldiering a modchip into the ps2 and it went wrong I guess.
First, the video never came on. Eventually I opened up my ps2 again, took out the metal case cover that covered the motherboard, then plugged back in the power board, and the ribbon for the reset and eject buttons. The video game on. So I put it back together, and the video is off again XD. So I take it apart and video on.... So I thought it was my dvd-reader, so I tried plugging in cables one by one and turning it on, it worked. Then I tried putting the metal case back on and nothing worked. So I took it back off, but this time the video didn't come on. I didn't try anymore because of a problem elsewhere.
Secondly, the reset button doesn't work on stanby. I had no video but the reset but lights up red. So I press it and nothing happens. I then press the eject button and the systen turns on. The press the reset button and the system resets. Once I hold it down and the ps2 goes to stanby, the reset button seems to die on me. I've tried it when the video was working and it did indeed reset my system, just doesn't turn on from stanby.
And lastly... well I think i know what the problem is. Well, the power plug was plugged in but the power board wasn't plugged into the motherboard. I turned on the power for the system (so that it would goto stanby mode) but I saw sparks fly off of the power board. Now, theres no power to my ps2. I'm just gonna order a new powerboard replacement... but anyway, anyone know what may have caused that? I don't want to give up on my ps2 just yet, and since it wasn't really plugged into the motherboard, i don't think anything else is screwed up... I just don't want sparks to fly out when its plugged into the motherboard.
Yeah lots of problems... Oh yeah, does anyone know where the reset stuff is on the motherboard for a V5 ps2?
