Does anyone know if the Duo2 chip will allow the PS2 to boot dvd+rw media? I've got a customer who I've installed a Duo2 chip into his v9 PS2, and he can't boot the dvd+rw, while his brother who I installed Magic3.1 into his v7 quite awhile ago can boot the same disc.
Just wondering...

From what I understand, there is an extra wire that needs to be soldered in order for a version 9 to read rw media.
Sorry that I don't know what that is, but I just figure that the rw media is a little tougher on the laser, and with dvd media getting to be so cheap, not worth it to use rw to burn up the laser any quicker than it will already.

Okay,... thanks for the info tiggersbowl1. If you do happen to figure out what wire it is (or anyone else knows...), please pass that on as well.
Cheers
