Duo for v4 gap bios –
I just got my chip for my ps2. But looking aroun on the web I am finding alot of different install pictures. I was wondering if some could show me which is the best way to install this chip.
Thanks for the responce. I'll give it a try and see what happens.
Ok everything went great made all my connections, everything looks good. But just one thing when i turned it on for the first time istill had the top cover off and i noticed that the ribbon cable has to be held a certan way on the reset aand eject switch. In order for the red light to come on. It booted up 1 time. Now all I get is the red light on the reset button and it does nothing the fan does not even come on. Has anybody seen this before? I have a new ribbon cable ordered do you think that is the problem? Or do you think it might be a blown fues. and if it is a blown fuse which one should i check first?
If you have to hold the ribbon cable in a certian place to get it to boot its more then likely the ribbon cable. Replace it and if that doesn't work it may indeed be a blown fuse.
Ok here is the update. got new ribbon cable today. Now the red reset light turns to green and the blue light eject light comes on but only a quick dvd turn then the blue light starts to flash. I'm guessing that means somethng. anybody know? I'm guessind one of the three wires that go to the dvd controler. Wires I,A,B.
I but I, and B on the chip instead of the VIA's.
Ok now i've rechecked all my connections and everthing looks great. Except my multi-meter is at work so I can not check for a bridge, blown fuse, or a bad ba chip. I noticed that when i turn it on and hit eject the blue light flashes and then nothing, if i let it sit for about 1 min the cd will turn a half turn about 4 or 5 times then it will speed up then stop but nothing comes on the screen. So now i'm realy confused.
Ok I finaly figured it out. I had a broken wire on one of the via's on the bottom of my board. Thanks for the help. Now with the duo installed everything works great. I tried to post a picture but can't figure out how.
