I ordered a Duo3 Ultra from Foundmy but instead they sent me the Duo3 Gold. I've contacted them numerous times but I haven't gotten a reply except for the first time in which they said they would send me the ULTRA out very quickly to correct the mistake. But its been 2 weeks and I really think think they aren't going to follow through and I'm out a modchip and money.

So here is the situation, this is a customers ps2 and they are obviously getting mad at whats going on and the time its taking. So will the Duo3 gold work on a 79001 PS2? I figure if the gold works then I'm fine. But if it doesn't then I have to buy another chip. My plan is to probably install it tomorrow and try it. But if someone here can tell me before then if it is compatible you'll save me some time.

    Thanks

The ultra does work on the 79k series, so I would assume the gold does providing you can figure out the Z point.

looking at the gold and ultra diagrams side by side shows the Z point is the only difference. If I remember right, it shouild be the clock point. for that, you may be able to compare that point from the gold diagrams to a modbo or something that you know has a clock wire. using that, I'd say you're golden on that.

I'm only using the v15 diagrams as a reference to see if the points line up for the clock with the duo 3 gold. Since they line up on that, they should line up on the duo 3 gold on the 79k series.
