DUO 2 SE rolling screen problem

I was wondering if you can help me with this problem. I just bought a Duo
2 SE chip and I did the modification with success. But my problem is that
when I tried to play an import original (PAL) on the NTSC PS2 I get
rolling screen on the NTSC TV. And do I need to put some sort of firmware
to make it force NTSC on the PAL original or backup games for the right
display from the NTSC TV?

Im really annoyed that I cannot play these games :banghead: with this chip and it says clearly it plays original imports! Why in the hell they dont make this extremely clear on their site? There isn't anything about it on their site. I just need to know how i can patch this or fix it! with firmware I dont want to spend no more money on this.

That's cause you're trying to play PAL games on an NTSC console. Doesn't work if you don't have a Matrix Infinity to convert the signal for you.

You can also buy a video converter and that works. A PAL to NTSC video converter, but I say you go upgrade to a Matrix Infinity or start patching up your PAL games to convert them to NTSC. Success rate of patching is not very good, not for me anyways.

Yeah of course I noticed that problem. But Can I flash the 'damn' chip to fix that problem? Because I worked with matrix infinity too. And this duo 2 se doesn't have anything like a MENU that i can do something. Doesnt it have something like third party software like toxic or whatever that can patch it? OH MAN IM PISSED!! I need new software on the chip to fix this. THERE MUST BE SOFTWARE FOR THIS!!

I think you should calm down and do some research. Right now your demands are unreasonable for a $15 chip.

I did my research :lol: . they should tell the truth instead of half truths(it doesnt convert the signals)... And whats the matter with a 15 dollar chip? What a waste...

You got what you paid for, as T07N mentioned what would you expect from a 15 usd chip ? You should have thought before investing in a chip like the Duo. How could you flash that when there is no flash memory on the chip itself plus it was not designed to be refreshable ? Go and buy an Infinity/DMS, those offer the option(s) you need, of course for a higher price.

ps: third party softwares for converting PAL to NTSC exist, but as Tony said the success rate is quite low, so it's up to you how many dvd-r's you waste when playing with these.:)

I see. Its hopeless... But can't you agree that this should be clear about the chip? The producer of the chip should put a clear FAQ about it? I thought this was a cheaper version of chips like Matrix Infinity. But to me right now to me is a very crappy chip. To me that is a basic thing. It says 'it can play original import games'. They could at least put in their faq that it doesnt do much for 15 dollars its better to buy one for 35 dollars that can do more for you. These people are not buyer friendly. Now they look like slizzy people who just want to have a quick buck and not caring about satisfaction from their customers.

Matrix Infinity cost $45-50... I don't know if you're that willing to pay $30-35 more for PAL games.

Actually they claim that their chip supports it, and they are right. The chip boots those games aswell. The problem is your TV, not their chip. Matrix Infinity and DMS just added the extra feature for the extra price that converts the signals. You should also blame your TV manufacturer not to produce a multi standard set. Of course, not to forget that 15 usd price is enough only for ripping and releasing something, to develop functions like ones Matrix and DMS offer costs some bucks and time, so either you support them buying their productas at a higher price OR forget these functions and live with those low end chips like the Duo itself. (oh, yes the high end chips have other features that low end chips cannot offer, so for ME they are worth their "high" price :D)

did you also try to use a RGBcable RGB is a multi standard what should give a stable picture ,

check you manual of your televisionset support RGB signal on SCART
if yes your problem is solved with a 5 dollar cable

also what is the version of your ps2
on all model you can forsing pal to NTSC or NTSC to pal with a extra wire
