Can anybody help me with my duo 2 se install. I used the diagram on their website on a v7 ps2. I used 30 awg kynar wire for everything except the ground and power points. I used 24 gauge wire there. Anyways, The ps2 turns on but all I get is a black screen and the dvd doesn't spin. I checked to see if there was any leakage on the bios or solder points but everything is fine. Could it be a bad chip? I heard that maybe the ground wire is too long and that's why it doesn't work. Any tips on how to find out what's wrong with the install. Thanks in advance.

I removed the chip and cleaned the solder points and my ps2 works. COuld it be the chip or maybe the connections weren't well soldered. Are there any alternate points for the ground. It seems pretty long. thanks

How can I make it shorter? Are there any alternate points, besides the one on the diagram from the official website? I am using a 22 gauge wire for the ground and power points.

You can try relocating the chip, it doesn't nessessarily have to be far away, you can put it right beside the bios or right beside the usb ports that have +5V and Gnd, then all that you have to do is worry about the orientation of the chip...
    Just a thought...

Why not just use another Ground point? I just use multimeter and find another one. Always work.

    Cruise through this thread: http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11400

There are a pile of Duo chip installs on a v7 PS2. You can use them as a reference. As EspeN suggested,... use a multimeter to find another ground point.

use the edge of the board, on the ground area. See other installs if you don't know what I'm talking about.
