Dumb mistake with Laser Fix

Today I finished a PStwo w/ MI and Summ0ne. With all the consoles I've done I've began to realize.. Modders should never be rushed. Bad things almost always happen (to me at least). Anyway I was supposed to use 2k and 4.7k. Instead used 2k and somehow a 560ohm. Everything worked fine except it wouldn't read any CD-Rs. I think it's cause i'm using that 560 instead of 4.7k. I didn't realize this until a few hours later so I have to call him and tell him to bring it back so I can put the right resistor on it. I hope this doesn't do any damage

Just called my customer. None of his DVD-R movies that used to work before the mod work anymore. It only reads TDK and Ritek. What exactly am I doing when I put a resistor on the focus? I'm bypassing existing resistance right? So If I mistakenly put a 560ohm I have even less resistance thus all the problems i'm experiencing? I really hope I haven't fried anything related to the focus. I told him not to turn it on until he comes in tonight and gets the 4.7k installed.

EDIT: Replaced the 560 with 4.7k on focus and everything reads perfectly.
