OK if anyone has read my previous post, about problems with playing PS1 games and DVD movies well I would like you all to know I have fixed it. I could not have done it without your help, so thank you.
The problem you ask? The alt Scex point!!!! I used the alt Clk and alt Scex points mentioned on the foundmy.com website. The alt clk and origonal are actually the same points, just the signal has to travel a little longer but the alt Scex lies behind a resistor. I'm sure you all have heard mixed stories whether the Scex point for the Messiah2 is just for PSX, or also PS2 well it appears it's for PSX and DVD movies. I can confirm this because this were the only media I had problems with, (yes even origonal) unless I turned OFF the Messiah2. This was fixed after I used the origonal points. Considering this is my VERY FIRST MOD I have ever installed, I must say I did a good job. It took a total of 5 days, as I am not too experienced with such things. I knew all my points were well soldered, that left only the alt Clk and alt Scex points that could be the problem. Still, before I actually went ahead to solder to the origonal points I tried re-doing my other wires but it didn't help. The problem that I had was of course that I couldn't play PSX or DVD movies, everything else would play. The media was detected as good, but it just froze during load and made the laser make clicking noises. It took some time, but thanks to all those who have helped I have finally managed to solder to the origonal clk and scex points on the other side of the motherboard. Trust me newbies, do not go with the alt points. It's not that hard to get to the other side of a V1/2 PS2. Well it would be hard and I'm sure I would mess up if I didn't have help, but luckily "ps2guy" has helped me step by step along the way. You can read all of it in my previous post, it'll help you out.
Now everything loads 100%, without any problems. It's just like all the media was origonal
. I will inform Terry over at foundmy.com about my findings. Thank you everyone for all the help, I couldn't have done it without you. Truly this is a great community

I'm glad you took my advice about the SCEX point. The 'official' diagrams are at www.messiah2.com and I am pleased to advise that tomorrow I'll be posting a full v1/v2 Install Guide. it'll go into this forum first because I'm not sure they're fully up and tunning over Christmas at Messiah2.com.
On DVD movies, that is not SCEx dependent because they boot with the Messiah 2 switched off.
Well done in solving the problem.
