  1. #1 Does Xenosaga work if it is a DVDR?

Sorry to annoy everyone again but I was thinking that the best way to get by the DVD9 protection is to burn it to a DVDR. That way it will most likely run without problems. I will give more accounts if this is the best way to deal with the DVD9 problem. Also I will see if my local store is modifiying using magic chip 3's since this is the only thing that gets around the problem.

Thanks for all the help guys!!

Xenosaga is a DVD9 and DVD9 discs can't be burned.

People with Xenosaga and weak lasers are concerned about whether or not they can always play the game. So someone I know is looking at how to rip it and put it back together again with the padding removed. Watch this space - but not overnight!

So you're saying Xenosaga doesn't actually use all the space on the disc, but fills it with empty data instead?

they don't even need to fill it with anything as long as the data is recorded that way (so data apears on both layers).

Its been a couple months now, and the game is out in the us. Is there any word from your mate about how to rip it, Charlie? Would you happen to know how to decrease the sampl rate of the movies in an iso? Thanks in advance.

Haven't you guys heard?? Kalisto ripped it to a DVDR. Probably lots of dummy files. Hopefully they didn't have to downsample FMV or audio.
The Yellow PS2 auto-boots all. PS2, PS1 stealth and DVD movies.

Yeah, I did hear, thats why I asked. I currently have a copy of the game, so I can make an iso of it, and then I could burn it, if I had instructions or a rip pack for doing it. I dont know very many good places to get ps2 games yet. I want a permanent copy so bad... I absolutely loved the first game.
