I has a v5 ps2 which is now a v7 because of the motherboard change. The reason is the person modding it says they only have v7. Anyway, the problem I'm having is that I can play everything PS2 orginals,PS2 cdr's,dvdr's and so on. The problem is that I cannot play the game Xenosaga. Charlie told me to load through GS2v2 without codes to load up the game. I tried but it works every so often. I was wondering if anyone can tell that if a laser is recab would the laser be faster and more efficient?

Yeah don't recalibrate your laser unless you know exactly what your doing and have the right tools or you will be sorry, thats supposedly a dual layer game which is probably your problem with your chip not supporting it.
