About LinkBacksIf i where to go out today 10-05-02 and purchase a New PS2 from a EB what version would it be? Do they make a Magic Chip for the newer versions?

a version 7, probably, unless they have old stock. Yes, it would be supported. At the moment, I believe all models are supported by magic 2.
If you can get access to the box, you can look on the bottom. They have a hole that goes right to the machine, so the sales people can scan the serial number. Look and see if you can see the model number. Version 7's are usually SCHP 3900x R. Where x is a number.
