    DMS4 EZI PRO - Solderless

    is this chip a good one? i want to be able to play backed up games, install an ide harddrive, and be able to run homebrew apps. if i have missed another form with the answers im sorry. i just want to be able to have a chip i dont have to solder that works. my main concern is the ide harddrive.

    if you are going to get a mod chip don't get a solderless, get a chip and get it soldered in either do it yourself or get an installer. it will save you from the problems and headaches you will run into IMO

    IMO = In My Opinion

    I agree with ronetone and IMO also, dont get a solderless, you wont save much money doing it yourself and they tend to have a lot of problems, they end up having poor contact and play up.

    the only reason i was asking about the solderless was because i have a solderless mod chip for my xbox and it works perfect. but if you say no on the ps2 then i'll try something else. thanks for the info.

    I have a DMS4 EZI PRO and it works perfectly. It is in my opinion that 95% of the people that have problems with solderless mods (the DMS series in particular) either a) have hardware issues to being with or b) have very poor skills and comfort in regards to messing with the inter workings of the console. I did manage to ruin one motherboard by pressing too hard on the DSP IC (even though it says in the manual to use EXTREME sensitivity when connection those connectors). Luckily a friend had a V7 with a laser go bad and he gave me the mobo. Redid the install and the DMS4 EZI PRO works like a champ. My .02
