  1. #1 Question DMS3 v2 Clarification Needed
    konash Guest
Just a couple of quick questions with regards to installing this mod in my v7. Is it safe to use 22AWG wire? Or does it have to be at least 20 as the page states. Also, when it says "make sure D and E do not cross any other wires" in the help website, what exactly is meant by this? There are wires going all over the board from the chip, how can I not cross any other wires with these two? If this chip is very finickey about stuff like this then I need some more details about this from ppl who have installed this chip successfully. Any input appreciated.

    Thanks.

I use 22 gague wire for te ground and 24 gague for the 3.45v point. Please view attached picture for more details on the alignments and routing of the two wires. Let us know if you need any help.

Wires D & E control important patching functions. If they pick up noise, the chip can misbehave. DMS3 v2 is finickey about this - but most people cope when it's been explained to them.

The best way of dealing with the D/E question is to wrap each of D & E with another wire that is grounded at both ends. Then it can cross over anything.

Thanks for the input guys...greatly appreciated. Do you have any pictures of a completed v7 board that I could take a look at to take out some of the guesswork and save some time?
