My DMS3 is working great except for one thing, aftewr the install my ps2 refuses to read DVD+R backups (and I'm guessing the same thing applies for DVD-R) I had Loy do the install for me, so I don't think it is an installation problem, but I did try to do it myself first and ended up with a solder bridge on the bios pins(bless Loy for fixing it). The ps2 reads regular DVDs and plays DVD games just fine, it also read PSX and PS2 CDRs as well. Is this a main board problem (ie something I ****ed up before I wised up and took it to Loy) or a laser problem?

Have you tried booting up the PS2 from standby with EJECT? There's a known bug with firmware 1.8.
