  1. #1 Unhappy DMS3 problem - PLEASE HELP!
    day_fiend Guest
I just tried my first install of a modchip. I put a DMS3 into my V4. The points all look ok to me, but obviously something is wrong, because now my PS2 won't boot at all. I hit the power button and it turns green and the eject button turns blue and i hear the fan spin, but nothing else happens. The TV doesn't receive any type of signal. It doesn't boot when I hold eject for one second either. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

What do you mean, "wrapped"? Also, what is ground bounce?

    Have you checked dms3's help forum's ?

wire's d and e are suspect to interference from the boards circuits
ground wrapping is explained in detail over at www.dms3.com
il give you a quick run down but dont have any pictures to show you like the dms forums have.

you wrap a single core wire round d and another one round e
and connect each one of the new wire's to the nearest ground point at board side and mod side this cut's out the interference.
a oicture speak's a thousand word's it's not an easy thing to explain.

thats why you should test before setting the wire's with glue

if your careful and have not glued over any components just peel it offif you have glue over any small surface mount caps i advise you just to cut the glue back and leave it as it is.

got it... i think i'm going to just undo all of my soldering, make sure the ps2 works without the chip, then hand it over to a professional to do the dirty work. It just took me way to long to do it myself, so at this point i'd be happy just to have a normal, unmodded ps2!
