i am having problems with the current batch of DMS3 mod chip.
After modding several asian PS2 with the DMS3 i had a common problem of games not loading, but instead of displaying the playstation2 logo, it returns to the browser screen where you see your mem card and the disc. if you press x to enter the game, it'll still eventually lead back to the same screen.

but using the same chip i am able to make a PAL set work with exactly the same modding method hence i figure it got to be something with the bios of the chip
do u guys know of anything which can help??
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Umm....

Ya i just installed DMS3 v2 on v7 ps2 and it worked for one burned game and an orginal. After 2 hours of playing 2 games then it stopped reading the DVD orginal/backup.

It plays CD-Rs , but with bad skipping.

    Any Ideas

    Thanks

a 10 month old laser id go with just cleaning the lens not adjusting the laser optic the ps2 laser life is not that reduced due to modding maybe a bit of condensation has built up on the lense with dust and what not in the air a layer of grease will have formed.

I cleaned the lens and removed all the dust in the ps2.
    Still nothing.

I have the service plan at Best Buy, so ill take it there and get a new one after i take the chip out of the existing one. I work there and i looked today and found a v7 ps2 (the online pack)
Im going to Try to putt the dms3 v2 chip in the new one ps2.

Any precautions i might want to do when putting the dms in the new v7 ps2?? That may have caused my problem>>?

Could it be possible it is a bad chip??? How would i check to see if chip works? Since the bad ps2 will read CD-Rs, I updated the dms3 v2 to version 1.8 and that seemed to work fine and dandy.

    Thanks

    Rath
