DMS3 help –
hello, im very new to this forum and i cud really do with some advice. I have recently bought a DMS3 chip for my V7 Ps2 which my brother was to fit as he has chipped quite a few Ps2s with the Magic3 and Messiah and never had a single prob with any of them!. so i had no prob gettin him to chip a new Ps2 with the Dms3. but after doing what looked like a perfect install, all he got was black screen! and when he took it out we found the Ps2 was dead!. could the chip have caused this? if it was faulty!. i want to try it again in a new ps2 but im a bit cautious incase its the chips fault.
many thx in advance
echo kirai Chech the BIOS chip for shorts. What version PS2 are you working on? Also when you reinstall the chip be carefull with Points (D,E,F) Short leads and Isolate the wires
working on a Version7 board....
LOD - why are points D, E, and F so important? ive seen you give that advice a few times, and was just wondering...
alot of "black screen" is cased by interference of wire D, E, F , O from crosstalk .. use short wires .. or use a twisted pair wire ... with one of the wire going to GND at each end. you can try just using twisted pair for D and E .. if it work great .. if not .. you might have to do it will all 4 points..
