DMS3 and gameshark v4

question is, I have to boot my ps2 with my modchip active. I put in gameshark and select game...put in backup, and it cannot boot the backup. is there a solution to this?

flash to the latest firmware.

I have already flashed to the latest firmware 1.8. The shark will boot up to allow the choosing of the game. When I choose game, it then tells you to put game dvd in drive and it will boot it. Then it flashes me a cannot boot cd message. I am trying to use the codes on a backup dvd. the backup works properly when I boot it directly.
