the reason for posting this here is we have a problem,we been in contact with dms3 team through guichi a few times now and basically being told they have tested it ,hmmm but mine aint working.being part of a respected supply/install team, asking for advice and not shouting our mouths we expected a little better support

    v7 pal 37 pin

v6(could be v5 but numbers are warn and im looking through glue, full bios can be got if needed) 37 pin socket

both machine pins layout are the same, both machines tested with numerous non swap chips, all work ( i,m sure with some thought u can work out wires are all fully tested)

dms3 was pluged into v7 all went well flashed it

dms3 was pluged in v5/v6as soon as u switch on ps2 it black screens,no browser or nothing.only way to get the ps2 to work as normal is to turn it on holding eject( turn off mod chip),then ps2 acts as if no chip is installed,i tried same flash disk agan obviously no joy rsod as chip was turned off

this is same fault as they mention on there site, but it works fine in the v7 so faulty chip no i have np flashing it ,if they got the correct flash (hmm i thought thats what i already done

retested v7 with dms3 still working fine
v5/v6 still working fine with all other chips

anyone had similar problems?,tryed swapping chip from 1 mc to another?

    anyone got any ideas

anyone want to check my install norwich ,although i think other chips booting proves wiring is good.all points are covered with numerous other chips except c eject but i treble checked it and verified it good connection as its used to disable the dms3,only way i can get the v5 not to black screen

Is it possible that you could supply a dump of the BIOS contents for comparison? PAL v6 which is very much the same as v5 was one of the main units we used during developing of the DMS3.
If you have it then please forward it to Guichi.

The PAL v5 is BIOS 050. The PAL v6 in question is BIOS 060 - different. Your web site says that PAL v6 has been tested (but not US v6, I note) but your above reply implies that the testing was actually done on a v5.

Could that be the problem? BIOS 060?

hmm i bought this chip with the understanding it was tomorrows chip.now i being told that it doesnt even work on pal v6 which is yesterdays console.and can i supply u with a dump of the bios, this i believe is done with naplink and an extra wire, but this is as far as my knowledge goes on the subject

email me software needed and instructions, then i take look and see if i can do it
    dust4dust@hotmail.com 1 mb attachment limit
mrdavidgibson@btinternet.com if bigger then 1 mb

ps as i already said i travel u can take a look at the ps2, europe is np ,but when i proven correct u pay my expenses,if its my install at fault then i pay

Yes PAL v6 with 060 BIOS is what we use during developing of the DMS3 not v5 050 BIOS which we have tested also.

I am not good at explaining the use of developing tools for PS2. Naplink and similar can be use with a application by pukko for dumping the BIOS contents to PC. No wire is needed for this, only be able to boot Naplink or something.

Sure - nice of them to come on. But what a reply to Dust. Dump the BIOS! Can YOU dump the BIOS? Can any ordinary customer who has a problem dump the BIOS?

Actually I think Dust's problem might be down to longer wires than on a conventional install because of the 37 pin rig. He's gonna have to fit the DMS3 in directly to prove the point one way or t'other, I reckon.

Remember Dust has got the 37 pin rig in his v7 and his v6. DMS3 works OK in the v7 but not on the v6. So maybe his wires are longer on the v6 37 pin rig.

He's gonna have to fit it in directly, isn't he.

It'll be a bugger if it works when fitted directly because it screws up moving the chip around between machines for testing. All the other chips both he and I have (Apple, Magic 3, Messiah 2, NH3, HK Messiah Fraud etc) work OK with the rig; maybe DMS3 is sensitive to wire length.

We just put the 37 pin rig in the v8 - and the DMS3 doesn't work whereas it does work when directly installed. So long wires is my current guess.

    hi dms
    nice to see u here

so what are your thoughts could it be wire lenght (i dont fancy undoing 37 pin plug shortening the wires, then i got to desolder and resolder plug back in)

if u think its the wire lenght any chance of a flash to sort it??
