Hey guys. I read many times how much easier it is to mod a V4-7 PS2 than a V1-3. Well I have installed a M2 in a V1, and it wasn't too hard because I had quick access to the PS2's motherboard. Getting to the other side is another story. A friend of mine has asked me to install a M2 in his V4 so I'm researching it now, but looking at the dissasembly instructions over at modchip.ca it looks to me I have to completely take the PS2 apart. I don't really call this easier, more like higher risk of messing up
.
The instructions over at modchip.ca state how to get to one side of the motherboard. I'm guessing this is the wrong side for installing the M2, I'll need to get access to the other side. If the removal of the motherboard is required, is the process different from a V1. All I had to do is uncrew the "outer' screws and disconnect the cables. Isn't there a simpler way to get to the other side, like maybe what I mentioned for a V1 above?
Thanks for any help.
