Disk spins for a second then stops. V5

My friend gave me a V5 ps2 that was knocked over by his kids/dog and wanted me to take a look at it. The system will load the disk and start to spin it then stops. The disk only moves a touch. I check all the fuses on the mother board and all good. The laser will move on its track and focus. Anyone have any ideas. P.s. This is a stock system not modded, I didn?t know where else to put a post like this. Thanks.

ahh i would try a new laser.
