    Ok, here it comes..
    Installed a duo2se in a pal v9 & did romeo mod -> black sreen.
    Noticed ps13 blew, probably because I powered the mod at the regulator near ps13.
    Backed out the mod, replaced ps13 and ps11 with a 800mA fuse -> all ok.
    Installed the mod again -> all ok
    Closed the ps2 -> now disc spins real fast. When I eject disc comes out while still spinning fast. Not cool..
    Checked all fuses again, cleaned all connection and removed Romeo mod. Still no change. Don't know what to look for next.
    Any suggestions are welcom..

    Have you looked at the metal strips on the bottom side of the CD connectors (mainly the biggest one that plugs into the side of the PS2). That controls the motor speed.. if one of those strips got bent backwards, you would experience the same problem you are having.

    Just replaced the motor that turns the disc and voila!!
    Checked the ribbon cable, motor and the connections, can't find anything broken.

    Doesnt make much sense that a fairly new v9 motor would be the cause. I thought since the ps2 was working with the mod.. then you closed up the ps2 you had this problem again that you pinched a wire or 2 or you grounded out a wire with a screw.. dunno thats my 2 cents
    retired

    I tried doing an open case swap to install the Exploit and my drive did the same thing.... It started spinning so fast that I thought the CD was going to shatter.... so I grabbed to cord and yanked it out of the wall....

    that's why I used the AR MAX to install the eploit.... and had no problems sense... I would have thought that the motor couldn't spin at that speed... it's what 24X drive..... so when it topped out at max speed it just about made me pee me pants.

    Put the mod back in place. After having trouble some due to my own fault, I got the console working. Now it works perfectly!!
