Disc Read Error.

Today I got the dreaded Disc Read Error. I have been reading about the eeprom changing application, and I was wondering if someone could advise me on how to fix my ps2. I already tried opening up my PS2 and cleaning the lens, so a simple lens cleaning has already been tried. I need someone to assist me to verify that i need a new laser, and or a replacement and or an ajustment. I have a version 9 USA,and live in Canada. Some suggestions of the best laser type to use, and a good place to order the needed replacement parts would be great.

tell us what the laser looks like or what model it is if you know.
which part of canada are you in?

Laser looked fine. I can hear it looking, so it is moving, and it used to make the clicking noises until i cleaned it. Now I can just hear it spining... I live in northern BC.
