    Hi

    Just modded a V10 with a DMS3 V9.
Did the Romero 5V mod too.
The PS2 powers up normaly, but the disc is not spinning at all !!
I've cheked the Romero mod and for shorts around the LA chip.
The laser measures fine around 5.1 ohm.

This is the first machine i've seen with this problem. I have been modding for 7 years, so it is not my first machine :-)

Any input on how to solve the problem ?
Is it a dead LA chip, or maybe the laser ?

    Regards

    Kim A

I've got that exact same thing happening on a V9 I'm going to replace the LA and see if that makes a difference. (but i somehow dont think it will)

I doubt it is the LA chip. I had disc not spinning issues and it always turned out to be bridging on the bios or cd/dvd controller chip (or vias on the back).

Hi, can anyone help. I have the same problem. I've check that I don't have any short or any bridging already. The disc just stop spinning. I have a v9 and it was working perfectly with dms3 before.
