Version 9... no spin regardless of media type. DUO 2Se installed. Romeo in place.

Any ideas? Which fuse controls the spindle? Thanks.

try booting ps2 with romeo mod removed and pin reconnected to 12v, also i would add summ0ne's fix to ps2. look round the v9 diagrams r round here somewhere.

you might have a short somwhere.. remove the romeo mod and restore pin 17 to 12volts.. check all your wires for shorts. If nothing else remove the modchip and retstore the ps2 to normal operating conditions.

romeo mod is probably better than summ0nes fix for v9/v10, as romeo mod helps prevent the LA chip from burning up.

In my experience, if a disc doesn't spin on V9/10 and the Romeo mod is in place, it means the LA chip has actually burnt out. Yes, I know the Romeo mod is supposed to prevent this, but it doesn't always - I've had 2 machines in the last week with the Romeo mod and burnt LA chip. I replaced LA chip with the generic version (6508 II), didn't replace the laser, and all working fine.

I have a PS2 39001 (version 5?) anyways my cd rom doesnt spin whatever disc i put it. I have a messiah 2 pro v2 chip. What could be wrong?

When i open the case i see that the white thingy turns 1/4 when there is a disc in and one full turn when there is no disc.
