Disassembly instructions for V1C

To install Magic3....requires "S" connection to bottom side of pcb. I have the pcb assembly (2 pcbs with heatsink sandwiched in between) removed from ps2 case....removed all screws holding the pcbs together....but there is a 4-pin (molex like) power connector that are soldered to each pcb. Tried to disconnect by prying....but connected very tight. Afraid might break something.
Anybody disassembled a Version 1C before....can you tell me instructions on how to separate this unit, so that I can get at the main pcb's bottom side to solder this "S" connection?

yes I'm wondering how the he77 myself because a 15watt iron is not going to heat up that big ball of soldier.

ok got mine installed and here's a short cut that's a real pain in the a$$. While looking at the back of the main board rotate it so the large heatsink is at the top. now down in the lower left corner is the solder point. I bent the metal shielding up and out of the way. this gave me just enough room to get the iron in there and the wire, but it is a really tight fit. You'll have to go in ant an angle to get at it but with a quick heat and stick the wire will stay. But if you feel you cannot do this then you will have to unsoldier the four very large soldier plugs on the backside. Make sure you do the back side of the unit for this and not the top of the mainboard as the pads are not reinforce and you will lift them while removing the soldier. So this is where you'll be with a V1C mainboard setup, good luck. Oh a 15watt iron will not work on removing the soldier lugs, get a 35watt to 45watt iron NOTHING more.

Dont need to do it. Just find Point 2 of thje Neo 2 install and solder the S point there instead.

Does point 2 from Neo v2.2 Installation really work. If so thankz for the tip. I was wondering how u get to point S. Have u soldered to point 2 before and have u had any problems.

Point 2 on the Neo 2.2 is the SCEx Signal, which is the same signal that S point gets, and yes Ive tried it with no problems.

the Neo 2.2 SCeX is different than the point that is required to solder to.

The No Swaps SCEx line is between a cap and a resistor. That resistor is tied into Pin 1 and Pin2 of the IC.

Neo 2.2 SCEx line is on the other end of the CAP. That is timing issues. I know Messiah1 didn't like it, I believe PSX games stopped working properly... Maybe PSX2 games will work but necrolop can you try both systems ?

If you use a multi-meter there is something in the way between those two points. that is the cap. with a different cap its a different phase.

Possibly true, but I have gotten it working fine on a v1 before so maybe not much of a problem. Ofcoars worth a try as taking those four pins off is a pain.
