ok, my stupid little cousin tipped my ps2 over
and now the drive tray wouldnt move!!! it would only close to a specific position, or open to a specific position, and the laser is sloping and going down when u open the disc tray, i took pics of inside and outside and here they are.
it's a v5 ps2.
oh yeah!!! and can u guys give me advice on how to fix it? i know u can charlie_ps2 :p
I think I can help you, my brother friend has the same problem when he drop his PS2. Just try to play with the tray by pulling it in and out or lifting it up and pushing it in and out. By the way try to look for some white thing under the tray it in the front, if you find that take a tooth pick and move it to the right and see does it solve the problem.
oh u mean the cog? thx, i actually have a card which i think i can cut to try it!
no not the cog but it some white thing under the PS2 tray but it in the front that lock the tray in place.
no, i tried, it doesnt work
the thing wouldnt move,
this is so ****ed up, God i wanna kill that stupid cousin of mine, i tried everything!!!
what else can i do!?!?!?
umm the first thing you can do is bet up your cousin :D but the thing you can do is play around with the tray and hope that it will get it self fix since no piece it broken.
he's 4 years old, and im practicing for when hes 10 so he can beat the shit out of him.
i tried everything, i shut my ps2, give it to the store, i hope he charges me $15 rather than $30.
just open the drive and get everything to place - its not harder then a 30 pieces' puzzle.
i cant exactly do that, the tray wont fully come out as u can see, and the only thing i can pretty much touch is the laser lens, the disc placer, locker, and white cog.
btw, sorry again for that remark i made a few days ago.
I ran into the same problem.
Grasp the tray from the sides with both hands.
Put your thumbs on top of the tray and the rest of your fingers under it.
Pull the tray out. As you pull it, use the 4 fingers on each hand and bend the tray a little outward.
Keep pulling until you've got about 95% of it out, then push it back in.
If the white slider along the front starts to move right while you're doing this, then you're not bending enough.
I hope this helps! >.<
