Yellow Dot = original matrix infinity factory shipped w/firmware v1.0 [flashable firmware v1.88+]
Blue Dot = matrix infinity factory shipped w/firmware v1.36 [flashable firmware v1.88+]
Orange Dot = matrix infinity factory shipped w/v1.39??? firmware [flashable firmware v1.88+]
Green Dot = matrix infinity factory shipped w/firmware v1.68 (v14+ requires green dot) [flashable firmware v1.88+]

So the only diff. is the firmware. Well the firmware doesn't matter cause you can easily upgrade it!
yes, the only difference is the shipped firmware; they all are updated with the same firmware & have the exact same features. the dot color only matters to the installer depending on the console model the installer is placing the chip. if the installer is going to place a yellow dot in a v12 ps2 he/she will need to update the firmware (1.36+ v12 compatibility). the only ps2 models that require a certain dot color of the MI are the v14+ consoles.Originally Posted by tester3000
