i'm having probs with my mx4 and am wondering if this fix would apply? if it does do i solder from the 5v to one side of the diode then from the other to the 3.3v??
clutching at straws now![]()

that diode fix was originaly for the infinity because some v12's have a problem of givin a stable 3.3v feed for the chip, if u use the 5v point for the feed just link the diode from the wire to the 3.3v pad on the chip, i had probs with 2 mx4's, pulled me hair out & did the diode fix on the feed but still had probs, turned out they had ****ed up on the chips & had to come up with a fix for that as well,(ps2 kept givin RSOD) have a look at pic attached to see if your one of the unlucky ones too.

cheers 4 the reply m8
read up on that before and it says that if it was a dodgy chip like u had it wouldn't boot at all, this one is booting every now and then
ssorry to be a pain but i don't want to mess this up, u wire the 3.3v pad on the chip to the 5v point shown in the dia??right?? then what do u do with the diode?? god i'm dumb
P
solder the diode to the 3.3v pad on the chip 1st then attach 5v feed to the other end of the diode, the diode decreases the voltage to a stable 3.4volts

I did also have problems with MX4 chips and Luke at Matrix team said to me to use this diagram and diod fix to my MX4 chip so you can use it...
From Motherboard to diode 5+ then from diode to 3.3V on the chip.
