Deciphering v3 Dms diagrams

I need clarification on a couple of points. I'm installing a dms chip in a version 3 machine. The points I have questions about are e and o. The first part of the diagrams shows the e on the chip and the o on the chip. The proceding diagram shows them on the board. Which is it? I am installing in a non-gap machine.

yes solder e to that pad shown in in the second picture. and for point o u can either solder to the pin of the dvd/cd controller or solder it the resistor those are points for the same wire
