My PS2 debugging station DTL-H30001S does not boot any PS2 backups...
PS1 backups from any region boot fine.

PS2 CD-R backups are recognized as PS1 originals (black disc) and hang on booting.
PS2 DVD-R backups show "insert PS1/PS2 format disc" red screen.
PS2 CD-ROM Originals work fine and are recognized as blue PS2 discs.
PS2 DVD-ROM Originals work fine and are recognized as white PS2 discs.
PS1 CD-R backups are recognized as PS1 originals (black disc) and boot fine.

The menu screen is displayed in B/W, because I have a PAL TV.

The version information screen also shows it's an DTL-H30001.

Can someone else with a debugging unit give some help?

Soon I will test a japanese PS2 original and report back.

your discs need to be patched in order to look like master discs. Either use sonys cd/dvd generator(If you have a debug station then you should be a licensed sony developer and have legal access to this) or use the master disc patcher thats floating around the net.
