    Hey all.
    Iv ben told that the NEO 2.2 modchip and the NEOKEY/SBOX over time wears out the laser in all PS2 machines. Due to noisy signals or to powerfull signals.
    Could anybody post witch mod chips are deadly to install?
    What I mean by deadly is that no matter what you do the modchip will overtime wear out something specific in the PS2.
    I have the annoying 010 bios so im very limited on what chips I can use. Id love to put in a neo 2.2 but if its guarranteed that no matter what I do that my laser will be junk after some time then theres no way im putting this thing in.
    Just a list of what mod chips wear stuff out no matter what would help.

    actually yes that is true.

    the problem is the neo 2.2 does forcable ejects which will hurt the ba5815FM/BA5810FM chip, and also put more force on the laser because if you force an eject the laser will try to do tracking and that will hurt the laser.

    all the new no swaps do not do forcable ejects so you will not have a prolem.

    2.2 does harm the ps2's laser, but no matter what mod you stick into your ps2 its always going wear out the laser, in a way mods do harm to the laser but the 2.2 does strane the BA chips
    the reason why the 2.2 has a high resistance so that you can play most of dvd based games thats why some other mods cant play half of the dvd games
